Dr. Lloyd’s current efforts are focused on providing technical consulting in chemistry, pharmaceutics, and drug delivery systems. He also applies his extensive industral experience and registration as a patent agent to assist in patent preparation and prosecution and related litigation.
Background

Dr. Lloyd is a Ph.D. physical chemist with more than twenty years experience in industrial and academic research and development. His specific areas of technical expertise are physical, analytical, and instrumental chemistry; spectroscopy; pharmaceutics; pharmaceutical, transdermal, and ophthalmic formulations; drug delivery systems; biomaterials; and associated processing and manufacturing technology. He also has an interest in applied pharmacology; biosensors; battery technology; and packaging systems.
Before beginning work as a technical consultant and registered patent agent Dr. Lloyd served as Executive Director of Research and Development at IOMED, Inc. (a Salt Lake City based developer and manufacturer of active drug transport systems), Senior Scientist at the Center for Engineering Design, and Director of Research and Development and manager of the formulations, analytical, and materials science group at Dermion, Inc. (a subsidiary of IOMED, Inc.). He has managed multiple inter-disciplinary and inter-company project teams and directly supervised scientists, engineers and other support personnel. He was directly involved in inventing technology and assembling intellectual property portfolios in support of current business and business development efforts.
